Krystan & Mitch Married!
For many reasons, Krystan & Mitch's wedding was very special for me. Krystan was the first bride to contact & book me as a Florida wedding planner. Her & Mitch reside in Portand. I love they are from the west coast & I adore they chose St. Petersburg - an amazing city. It's the best when you can just appreciate your clients & simply love corresponding with them. This tends to be the case with Hustle & Bustle brides & groom (thank Goodness!).
About their wedding: It was important for Krystan & Mitch to incorporate elements of the Pacific NW to Florida, since they love where they live & many of their guests were traveling from there. The vibe of the day was laid back & fun, but still feeling like a wedding.
Another huge element, was their vegan-ism. They desired to leave as little of a footprint as possible when everything was said & done. Guests, even the mega meat eaters, thoroughly enjoyed the cuisine provided by Chives Catering.
Their wedding also contained feminist elements. Mitch walked down the aisle after the entire wedding party but immediately prior to Krystan, as one example. Their officiant, Lauren Miller, included many other feminist details to their personalized ceremony.
The most profound aspect to their wedding was how their personalities shined through on everything - especially when planned from across the country!
Wedding Chicks featured this darling wedding, last week! You can see so many more details, including the darling backdrop here!
Renee Nicole Design was their incredibly sweet, fun, & perfect photographer. See her blog post regarding their wedding here!
One of my fave bridesmaid dresses |
Awesome ending to the father/daughter dance |
Their program included instructions for their custom handshake. It also mentioned how fun it is to be able to look up the first things they said to each (since they met online). |
Tea length dress was perfect for Krystan. |
The floral tie was spot on for this occasion! |

Hummingbird Nest Ranch Wedding!
Tamara & Arturo! They got married! We adored them & their families, not to mention the other amazing venues at this jaw-dropping gorgeous venue. Some of our favorite details included the custom made table runners & hummingbird table numbers. Guests were able to enjoy a Mexican breakfast bar towards the end of the evening - in the midst of dancing bliss! After the ceremony, guests followed the mariachi band on a walk around a beautiful lake, through the majestic horse stables ~ where they looked for their names on gorgeous name cards hung by colorful silk ribbons throughout the stables. Upon exiting the stables, a gorgeous view of the lake awaited them as they found their table & awaited for a fun-filled evening full of good music & delicious cuisine. What an utter JOY!

Old. New. Borrow. Blue. Don’t Know What To Do?
Want something meaningful to have the best of luck on your wedding day? Want it subtle? Want it grand? Don’t know what to do? That is why Hustle and Bustle has created a list of the 10 best old, new, borrowed, blue ideas.
We recommend jewelry. Whether is it old, new, borrowed, or blue jewelry is subtle enough to place in a bouquet, wear, or sew into a skirt.
Do you have a religious tradition? Incorporate an old bible, a borrowed chuppah, or new glass to break .
Old
If you want an heirloom we recommend jewelry. It
doesn’t have to be warn, it can be placed in the brides bouquet or sewn into
the hem of her dress. This could be anything from a grandmothers necklace or
broach to a fathers old tie pin or cufflinks.
Many
brides try to include a mother or grandmother’s piece of fabric from their
dress into their new wedding dress. Don’t want it do be seen? Have it sewn into
the inside of the skirt or used to wrap the bridal bouquet.
Many
religious traditions include using carrying a small old bible that has been
passed down in the family in the bouquet. An old vintage bottle can be crushed
during the ceremony.
Unique
ideas include an old vintage “Just Married” car, any vintage mirrors, gloves,
vials, headpieces, childhood pillow for the ring bearer, old photographs of
relative’s weddings, or hosting the wedding at a historical location.
New
Usually a brand new dress is considered the “new”
token. However, if you borrowed or choose not to have you dress as the “new”
item there are still many options. Many Hustle and Bustle brides have been
surprised by their soon to be husband with a new gift moments before the
wedding.A new perfume may be new to you as well as a wonderful way to entice your new husband. This signature scent can be the new scent as “Mrs.” We suggest Chance but Chanel. It it is the #1 scent liked by men.
Any new makeup, accessory, or item received from friends, parents, or future husbands counts as your “new” item.
Borrowed
Borrowing an item can be a tough one. You may want to
ask a friend, a family member, or maybe you’re soon to be in-laws. They more
than likely will be honored to let you borrow it! We suggest possibly asking
your best friend or maid-of-honor to borrow her strapless bra or maybe a piece
of jewelry.
Your loved ones will most likely be honored to help you with these bits of tradition & what a relief to check off a couple of more items on your wedding task list.
